I love both the doing it and appreciating it. Even as a young girl, I gravitated towards anything creative and fun. Hanging out in our backyard woods, I’d be quickly entranced by a bug, a bird, a leaf, the wind—whatever caught my attention in the moment—and then I would draw.

I love the organic abstractness of art and the different interpretations people make of the same subject or idea. I’m drawn to quirky images that are part imagination, part real, part who knows what? Art is mushing together colors, lines and shapes into wonder.

Whether I’m creating solo or with others, I yearn to be part of those fleeting creative moments where sparks fly and transform into symbols, ideas, beauty, and markers of history. Mostly, my art is a bunch of small celebrations of little bits of nature.
